Advanced specialty carbon blacks for various polymer applications such as synthetic fibers (filament and staple fibers), injection molding, films, adhesives and sealants, engineering plastics, pipe, artificial leather, EPS, and wire & cable etc.
Carbon Black is widely used for various plastics coloring. Normally, carbon black with fine particles (high surface area), is used for high jetness purpose, like T-820(MCF), T-930(HCF), which can impart plastics particularly high black shade with high gloss due to low structure.
For plastics with distinct color, such as ABS, carbon black with good tinting strength, like TC-400 could cover the original color the polymer due to high structure, whereas, the carbon black loading need be increased to 1% to 2% normally.
Regarding general coloring, carbon black dispersion is very important, 
which would influence surface gloss and coloring (including blackness and tinting), like AC-420, AC-460 for film and general purpose black masterbatch;
Moreover, for fibers(including staple fiber and filaments), dispersion is the decisive factor as spinning performance totally depends on that, which needs strict quality control on carbon black production. Normally high structure grades have much lower dispersion hardness, but low structure grades have better flowability and better undertone. Hence T-590B and T-690B were developed to balance the dispersion and masterbatch process to comply with specific requests on filaments and T-450B was developed for staple fibers.
Carbon Black grades with higher structure (OAN>110 ml/100g) also could be used for conductive and anti-static purpose in plastics, for example T-380B, T-680B & T-1025 etc. With high structure, carbonblack chain could be connected more easily into net structure at low carbon black loading, which could impart conductivity on plastics. Meanwhile, surface area could have positive impact on conductivity.
